Should I let this put me off

What's your problem..so, what if its a 13 year old, mines a 12 year 3.2 "Commuter Diesel" C Class... The Van the same? If the OP wants to buy so.. then that's his prerogative.." Beauty in the eye of the beholder" and all that, every bodies finances are different "therefore his pot of gold" to his pocket...

P.S "No alcohol, substances both drugs or cans were inhaled or ingested during this thread.. "

P.P.S "mkay" is spelt "MacKay" OR "McKay" - Specsavers my friend, Specsavers...

I don’t have a problem. I’m not the only person who’s suggested you’re making a bit of a berk of yourself today.

What would MacKay or McKay even mean in this context?

If you were a little more aware of ‘net culture, or even googled the phrase you’d have seen that it’s very well established and is spelled exactly as written.

If you’re going to call someone out on their spelling and grammar, make sure you’ve not made any mistakes in that very post. Hilarious.

Education my friend, education.

Like I said. South Park is not my forte..

And yet others saw my comment as " A bit of fun.." (a couple of "likes" - I'm sorry you never saw it that way) for which it was meant.. instead you want to argue about "13 year old commuter diesels" I think you'll find that I'm in the majority here where many of us " cut our cloth to fit" therefore own older cars.. if we want to change out parts to our satisfaction then so be it.. its the OP's prerogative ..

"What would MacKay or McKay even mean in this context?" Its a Scottish name therefore could be deemed "Offensive" to certain people incorrectly spelt .."Nuff Said"

But, of course you Googled that right? You Wikepedia'd it right? But to call someone out for "Taking Drugs" when you don't know them is a bit poor the lowest of the low really, especially when the comment was made in fun and others found it so...

Net culture/text speak is also not my forte, I'll admit that.. but I'm glad you found it amusing, lets someone else alone for a bit..

But this is drifting away from the key issue of the OP.. you want to continue, then take it off the forum I'll deal with it there.

This about the advice given to an OP asking about a car with an after market stereo so I'll leave it at that...

Right, but why would I just toss a random Scottish surname out there? Strange.

I’ve never seen an episode of South Park. I told you where the reference lives, someone else told you where it originates.

What has internet culture and text speak got to do with each other? There is zero convergence.

“Take it off the forum and I’ll deal with it there”.

Oh mr big bollocks, what exactly are you going to do? Say some mean words? Grow up.

I don’t want to fall out, so let’s either agree to live and let die, or start a PM thread and we can argue until the wee hours there.

Whoa guys calm doon :p

All I was mearly saying at the start was I was wary of a aftermarket radio and what if any wiring was butchered behind it.

Yes I'm not keen at all on silver on anything but it's only a colour and if it runs fine then I guess alls well

I'll see what happens from here.....I've also been looking at an 06 C180 petrol komp both are auto

OP you’ve answered your own question.

If you’re not happy with the colour, or the fact that the OEM radio has been removed. Then just look for another car? Unless this car is particularly cheap, there is no shortage of cars for sale. I’m sure the car you want will be along soon, in the right colour, with the factory in car entertainment system untouched. :)

As for the car you are looking at, I suppose the radio you can easily change, the colour you can’t.

I am also a bit funny when it comes to aftermarket radios, although I have fitted a high-end Pioneer Unit in my CLK. It has Apple CarPlay etc. However I made sure to only pick one with an ‘iPhone style’ screen, not one of those plasticky cheap ones.

This particular fitting did actually need 2 wires to be spliced, nothing which can’t be reverted though. This is because it was originally equipped with COMAND, and CONNECT2 do not design a harness for use with that particular year CLK Comand system. So you must use the AUDIO 10 harness and simply splice into 2 wires.

In my W211 E class I have the COMAND NTG1 system. This I am very very very happy with, all I have added is an Anker Bluetooth adaptor which connects to the Aux jack in the glovebox.

The sound quality is great, the bluetooth adaptor means I can stream music from my iPhone, and I always use WAZE navigation with my iPhone mounted on the air-vent anyway. In my opinion this is the best navigation application available.

I would never consider replacing the COMAND in my E, it looks very nice and I don’t think any aftermarket unit will look as good. As well as the fact I will never use any extra functionality, all I need it to do is play music from my phone, which it now does with my £12 adaptor. Sat-nav is handled by my phone, the adaptor also handles calls allowing me to answer and decline calls at ease. I have mounted it where the Airmatic raise/lower button would be if it had this option. It doesn’t look out of place in my opinion.

P.S Silver is beautiful. Although I may be slightly biased? :)

I get what you say.... At the same time a color is really just a color and I guess silver isn't that bad as long as it goes which mine doesn't
