Sl350 R230- Has anyone fitted a Seicane infotainment head unit?

The Seicane seem to be the only Manufacturer who have a modern head unit that will fit the exact matching mount leaving the outer wood trim present.

Just wondered if anyone had one fitted and how it is working? (or not as the case may be)

I was/am tempted, particularly as one could incorporate a rear view camera; but I never found anyone who would supply & fit.

You need to be alert to shipping & duty costs too.

They have come down a lot recently i noticed to about £250 direct from Seicane but i do worry about after sales queries and fitting it myself.

Tried to fit something similar to a SLK last week, and it kept corrupting the car's canbus :-(

Theres 3 different possible technology levels in the SL. (DX, NTG1, NTG2.5) and whether you have an amp or not is important. There are fascia adapters for both the original dash (wood around the head unit) and the newer dash (from MY2005 onward), so any aftermarket unit is possible, but the amount of wiring etc depends on what is in the car now. I recommend Alpine units in SL, they just look nice if you ask me, and work very well - but you are looking at some multiple of £250 !!
