Sl60

I reckon that will go for cheap, no reserve

Looks OK in the pics, no mention of service history though. Interior a bit tatty, no heated seats, aftermarket exhaust, plastic windows in hood need replacing. Rear lights are wrong type (later ones) so make sure it hasn't been rear-ended ...

4 X BRAND NEW TYRES JUST FITTED
Just noticed they are Accelera 'budget' ones though - not sure I would want those on a 400 bhp AMG.

It's missing the rear wheel arch spoilers and one front bumper airscoop. Also the front number plate holder is not the AMG one. (which is 10x the price but does fit the AMG bumper).
It's got a little window below the boot lock. I'm fairly sure that was on very early cars only?

Yes I saw that as well, something to do with the lock/immobiliser IIRC? Not right for a 97/R car anyway. Would need to be looked at carefully, bearing in mind the replaced rear light clusters. No boot badges either - would be unusual to debadge an SL60, so again could indicate damage repair or replacement panels.

Forgot to mention that the radio mast looks like it's jammed.

Is the third brake light consistant with an august 1997 car?

Looks like the under dash cladding has been tampered with on the driver side... Is this loose bit of trim a common R129 trait?

Well spotted on those, front-end damage repair maybe?

Wasn't sure whether all SL60s had the rear wheel arch 'lips' or not. I know they are big money to buy!

3rd brake light was an option then. But of course that and the lack of model badging and the later design rear lights could mean the parts have come from a later ('99 onward) donor car after rear damage. So would need to check this out carefully.

Loose cladding is not a common problem, carpet looks pretty bad that side and leather is possibly a bit 'tired' for a 70k mile car.

Possibly someone stole the number plate holder? They're well over £100 to replace and easy to pinch. The front airscoops are eye-wateringly expensive as well.

Yup, should have them.
Almost certainly rear end damaged at some point...

I would tread carefully here. The contact details for this vendor are in an area of Canvey that is full of breakers, small car repairers, salvage/repair yards etc some of whom are less than reputable.

The vendor also deals in cat C/D write offs (see disclaimer notes at bottom of ad) .... and just because a car isn't on the hit list doesn't mean it hasn't been damaged.

Full inspection and provenance check required here IMHO if remotely interested.

Yup.
all vehicles are sold as unroad worthy

WE DO NOT TEST DRIVE OUR VEHICLES
THIS VEHICLE MAY HAVE SUSTAINED MORE DAMAGE THAN IS DETAILED ABOVE AND IN SOME CASES NEED ALIGNMENT

etc.

I think the clue, or lack of, is in the title, somewhere near the word 'unrecorded'!

This is why we are the the Best Forum :thumb:

I'd like it just for the engine and gearbox.

I have a dream of putting all the running gear from an SL60 into a late W126 500SEC with AMG kit. It would make an awesome cruiser.

Just need the cash now. :D
