Sl60

I am about to sell my sl60 amg owned for the last 9 years, saw that car on eBay but not sure whether to advertise it on there now. Any suggestions? Thanks

Post up some details on here, we're always interested in SL60s :thumb: Someone will probably make you an offer. That guy's e-bay advert got some stick because he said it had never been damaged yet the panels don't line up and the back end is from a much earlier car.

Nobody's expecting a 15 year old car to be as new but that car's clearly had a major accident at some time and the seller's lying about it, as well as shill bidding.

E-bay can be a great way to sell a car.

I think that yellow one coventry is overpriced at £10k, it is worse than this one on ebay.... unoriginal colour, yellow wheels... etc etc.... molested to the max iirc...

Thanks for all of your emails and messages. It is a 1998 S plate private reg S16OSW included with it, 61k got all mots had a few services logged but not for a couple of years as I've hardly used it (got a family now) immaculate inside only marks outside are a couple of cracks to the underside of the bumper from kerbs. Plastic rear window on soft top has 2 20mm cracks also on the folds, I think that's all but of course anyone is welcome to come and inspect. Only ever broken down on me once in 9 years which was an indicator stalk, recently had the 4 shocks renewed as the old ones got to hard, I can't think of anything else I have needed to do to the car. Ps comes with a spare rear tyre lol

I believe this (the one owned by SL60amg1998) has now been sold to a forum member. Does anyone know who it was?

Yes who bought this?!! Someone got there before I did... well done whoever it was, as by all accounts it was bought for a steal.

I was having some thoughts to sell my SL60 next year but if the right deal was out there I guess I would consider doing a deal earlier.

I have a new rear quarter panel that I wanted to get fitted as the existing one has a small bit of rust just above the bumper. I have the panel (all £1k's worth by all accounts) ready to go but need to book it into a bodyshop.

I also have some replacement door cards, front indicator lenses and a wiper motor that have been on my list for some time to replace. Have the parts just not had the time to spend with the car. My problem is that my business takes virtually all my time at the moment and I don't see that changing any time soon. Means I don't get to spend the time I hoped with the car either driving it or fettling with it.

It has been garaged until last month as I have had to use my garage as an office as well now so not sure I want it left out over the winter. Best car I have ever owned and love it to bits but unless I get some more time it is wasted on me as it deserves better. I have always spent whatever needs spending on it and Olly @ PCS has always done a great job looking after it for me. Olly will back me up to say it is in great nick mechanically. He looked inside the engine last year or so I think to replace the cam oilers for me and remarked that all the cams/internals were in great shape with no scoring or wear at all.

Was looking to replace it next year after doing the rear panel and the few other bits this year to get it in tip top condition. Likely with something a little newer and something that didn't mind being outside all the time. Maybe CLS63, M5, 650 etc. or something like that.

All hearsay at the moment as I haven't made a final decision but just to let you know that there is a nice SL60 likely to come onto the market at some point.

that is a scam. 100%.

When it first appeared I asked some questions via ebay and called and left a message but got no response to either. I had my doubts about it and had spotted various issues but at the time thought there was no harm in enquiring.

Simple, its a scam. A criminal highjacks a genuine eBay account and hopes you will follow his instructions to contact any pay outside of eBay. Eventually eBay notice (not often, they don't care) or the real account owner complains to eBay and they end the listing.

The 'scam' SL60 has been listed 3 times in the last week, I put a bid in of £10k each time, when eBay end the listing I get a nice e-mail from them explaining why the listing has ended. One day I hope to win and have some real fun 'scammer-baiting' hence my bid each time.

Oh the joys of being retired with time on my hands!
