Sl60

I was potentially interested in this too. I spotted quite a few of the things mentioned but not all. I also notice there seems to be some bubbling around the passenger rear arch. The aerial is not fully retracted. The rollover bar fault light is on. The panel gap between the bonnet and passenger wing doesn't look right and the gaps between the front spoiler/headlight trims aren't even. It doesn't say if more than one key is included nor the immobiliser key.

If you look back through his feedback you will see that he insists that positive feedback is given before releasing the car. It would also appear he can get quite aggressive about this. There are several cancelled deals which I suspect is where people didn't comply with this. I'm glad several bits I didn't spot have been mentioned as they are enough to put me off.

More than likely it would have been fitted with the factory MBSS alarm/immobiliser, controlled by the one key.

I put a bid in on it, then after very carefully looking at the photos concluded that I don't think its a genuine SL60, too many anomalies as discussed above and the engine cover looks wrong. Further, it does not show as insured on the ASKMID database and the DVLA website does not recognise the registration - I would tread very carefully!

Insisting on positive feedback before releasing the car? That's not allowed surely. I would run a mile if that were the case, I don't know how he gets away with that!

The engine bay and cover looks right. I think it is a genuine SL60, just one that's had an interesting life.

It seems to have had front and rear damage, repaired on the cheap (maybe even reshelled). The roll bar light will probably turn out to be a missing or faulty soft top module and replacing the trim will not be cheap.

I like the idea of putting the running gear into a W126 coupe though :D

Looking again I tend to agree - the fit of the front bumper against the wing is particularly poor and the small rear wheel arch extensions should be there - how easy is it to "mileage correct" a 129? As noted the interior wear seems excessive for circa 70k miles.

I'm impressed at the detailed knowledge of you lot!

I think it's a case of if it's too good to be true it probably is..!

The main reason I wouldn't buy- that naughty blue interior!!! Why would you spec that from new!!!

I like the idea of dropping the engine into a 124... You could get a most of the money back on breaking the rest of the car.

read their terms and weep!!

we do not accept any returns all items are sold as seen with no gaureentes what soever all vehicles are sold as unroad worthy and as trade sales only.

also they are shill bidding it up!!:wallbash:

I put the reg in an insurance quote system and it came up with the correct details for an SL60. Seller doesn't answer questions either.

Plus a B class fixed panoramic roof, that'll solve the awful sunroof problem on the SEC's.

One day maybe.

A decent genuine unmolested SL60 can be picked up for not much more can it not?

I think you'd struggle to find a decent SL60 for any less than £12K and probably more than that.

Do you think the buyer will give positive feedback?

Quite hard to type and give feedback when you are punching your own face in out of remorse

That said, it may turn out to be a peach eh?

Winning bid is from an eBay member with zero feedback?! I suspect this will be relisted soon, I would also wager that the winning bidder shares a keyboard with the current owner.

Even if it is genuine, I do hope the new owner has the several £'000's this is going to need to put it right.

That car will never be right. We'll see it again on e-bay over and over I suspect.

I am about to sell my sl60 amg owned for the last 9 years, saw that car on eBay but not sure whether to advertise it on there now. Any suggestions? Thanks

SL60 - I have emailed you.

As for the ebay advert, deffo shill bidding, its not worth more than 7-8K max in that condition and I wouldnt touch it with a barge pole.

So have I.
