Hi all,

I've noticed a slight vibration when the car (W124 320) is idling in Park. It isn't constant and seems to be more apparent when the engine is hot. Whilst not severe it is noticeable inside the car and the doors can be seen to shake slightly when open. Revs do not fluctuate.

The problem disappears when reverse or drive is engaged.

Engine mounts were done around 6 months ago along with new spark plugs. I'd be grateful if anyone could shed some light on this.

Thx.

Just had a similar issue with mine and turned out to be the prop shaft flex discs. Think some also call them dohnuts or couplers, mine hadn't cracked to badly but enough to allow a vibration through the car

Many thanks for that, will get my mechanic to check the condition of the flex discs.

Why would they cause vibration at idle in park? On the go, yes, but not in park.

I'm not a mechanic but mine caused a vibration in park .must have been the case because once replaced the vibration is gone .
