Slk 200 engine oil

Hi looked at the specs required and they are
229.3,229.31,229.5,229.51 its the 1.8 petrol 2010 are any of the specs better than the other and does anybody have a recommendation of which oil they think is best also is there a manual dipstick for engine oil and a separate transmission dipstick?

I would go for 229.5 for sure

Enter your Reg # into the link below for the correct oil. I'd always use the latest spec which is 229.51

Not sure on your model if you can use a manual dipstick. If you can, the dealer will have one or you can get a generic MB one from eBay. A lot of models you can check the level in the cluster. Separate ATF dipstick required.

Had a look as we've not long had the car you cant check the level through the dash and there is a manual dipstick and there is some dipstick next to that so I will order up a dipstick for the transmission does anybody know how the black top comes off of the transmission tube as I think its due a transmission oil change, is this something I should attempt? or is it best a indy has a look?

also looking at the 229.51 its low saps and considering this is a petrol is that a good move as ive heard the low saps is less lubricating as it has less additives?
