slk auto box atf level

Hi, i,m a new member on here and would appreciate some info on checking the transmission fluid level on my 1998 slk 230.
I removed the plug and found that there is no dipstick with the car, is this normal ?, finally, try as i may i cannot find a workshop manual for this car, any ideas?, thanks in advance, be879

You have to buy a dipstick for your car from mercedes. The idea being that it is not something a customer should need to be troubled with assuming regular services are maintained.

Get a universal dip stick of ebay and save yourself a fortune or take it to an indie to get it checked. Try on ebay too for a "Peter Russek" Manual.
