I have seen pics of an SLK with a cupholder in a small central part of the dash top. (hard to explain really where)
Mine has a thing here which pops out but it's just a flat tray.
Does the cupholder attach to this or is it a totally different part and can I get one?

TIA.

Tony.

It's an option on order - tray or cupholder  imho - it's the tray every time - think I'm having cups and therefore liquid sloshing around my pride n joy  plus I find the tray is superb for car park change ;) BUT each to their own. I don't see why you shouldn't be able to change it aftermarket.

Pammy, Plodd

I seem to recall seeing a web link on here for cupholders dot com or something like this so if MB garage offerings dont have something you really like you could try it

Steve :)

I'll have another go at finding the link soon

Ah here it is: - they even have ones for a light aircraft !

Try your dealer, they sell cupholders for most models, I bought one for mine and use it daily.

But not it appears for the SLK.
Site says the trim along centre console is too thin

Just guessing , i would imagine its not too difficult. Try and find an SLK with the cupholder already in it , make a note of the vin and call the parts department. If its cheap enough , buy it and have a look at it . Might give you an idea about what involved in retrofitting it.

It will either be a case of removing the console trim or just sliding it out.

IF youre willing to take the risk ..... if it doesnt work out , stick it on ebay. Someone will buy it.
