SLK engine noise (Whine) getting worse

Hi all,
posted this problem about a week ago and still no success in the repair. The whine is much louder now after about half a mile from cold about 1500 revs same when stationary. Today replaced pulley beneath the idler pulley and ran car with idler pulley dissconnected. So that rules them two out. Was wondering if it could be supercharger.Have checked the alternator. Car runs great just got to get this sorted. SLK 230 70,000 miles 51 reg. Thanks for any input you can give.

Have a specialist take a listen.

if you take the SC belt off its stops right?

Hi BlackC55, no not tried that yet do you think it could be supercharger. ? cheers

It is quite likely.

Check all of the puleys for play.
