Hi, can anyone offer a bit of advice please. The driver window on my SLK has developed a problem. To start with it sounded like the motor was running on after the window was opened or closed, but has now moved onto sometimes not working at all, after a few tries it will work, but continues to run on a little. When I closed it tonight, it didn't quite go all the way to the top with the first effort, but did when I moved it down and then back up. Does anyone think it is a motor issue, I'd rather order a new one before removing the door cover if it's likely to be the motor?
Thanks for any replies

Hi, can anyone offer any advice on this one please?
Thanks

Can only quote from a CLK , but presume the same principles apply

1. Try a window reset (Google it) by lowering and then raising it on half switch and then when it reaches the top, increase to full switch and hold for a few seconds

2. If the other door is also affected, it could be the roof switch

3. A hard reset by disconnecting the battery for a few mins will work, but should not be a frequently used a fix

Number 1 should be your first attempt and could work.....

Please let us know how you get on

Just tried this, and the reset after disconnecting the battery, but no luck. The motor sounds like it's 'clicking' for one or two seconds max and the window only actually goes up or down now and again?

Hi. Any more suggestions on this? Someone told me to try pressing the roof close button forward twice, which I did, and although I heard it click every time on the passenger side, it only clicked now and again on the driver side? Not sure whether this points to the door control module?
