SLR spotted, black and beautiful!

Just turned out of my road and saw what looked like an "interesting" SL from a distance coming towards me.

As it approached there was no mistaking that w-i-d-e look. Pretty impressive though almost understated in black on a cold uninspiring day.

Car was on a 54 plate and only the second SLR I have ever seen: the other was a silver one I spotted a couple of years ago in Weybridge so I presumed at the time it was travelling to or from the McLaren factory.

I'm in Buckhurst Hill in Essex and don't know if it was a local car. I do know it would look good in my garage though!

When I lived near Woking they had a couple of demonstrator/press cars that I used to see out and about quite often ... one silver and one black.

One of my customers has 2 (yes TWO) SLRs....a standard silver one and a pimped up black one

I was lucky enough to have a go in the silver one and I must say that the view down the bonnet is looooooong!

I was terrified driving it incase I kerbed a wheel or crashed into anything!

The SLR service centre is at Mercedes-Benz Brooklands/World and Dunsfold (near Guildford) is where the customer events take place. If you like SLR's (and who doesn't?!) pop down to MB World in Weybridge there is always a handful outside to gawp at.
