smokey? c220 cdi (w203)

Hi all, recently purchased a 2002 c220 cdi - its got 140k on but I know the last owner an they looked after it really well, I have a folder full of receipts for servicing, parts etc but I have noticed its had injectors replaced just before I got it, the problem I have got is, sometimes when setting off it puts out a fair bit of smoke, mainly grey looking, and when driving noticed mainly of a night when hit the kick down it chucks out abit of smoke then? any ideas what this could be? ive searched a couple sites and they all say 'black death' injectors? but it drives fine, pulls well starts fine etc?

Don't worry abut what you see at night, any diesel without a DPF will show visible smoke n headlights.

Run a dose of injector cleaner through it and check the EGR valve is clean.

As DM says don't worry too much about it my much newer vito at night time I also can see small puffs of smoke when changing gear if I'm driving it hard .

Speak to Fahad at Premier Tune. He can delete the egr and tweak the ecu so that your engine will run at optimum settings. He has done 2 cars for me and I thoroughly recommend him. See his feedback.

I find every couple of months for a week I use nothing but esso supreme diesel keeps the car running like a dream and smoke free I'm on just over 300k miles now in my e220 cdi. Never had injectors out for any reason and still pulls like a train.
