...having originally set out to test drive an Audi A4!
I pick up my 2004 E320 Avantgarde Auto this Saturday after trading in my trusty BMW 318i SE Auto which I have proudly owned for 9 years and 1 day.
The Merc comes with a FSH from new and I shall be its 3rd registered owner. There were zero advisories on it's last MOT dated May 2015 and will undergo a full 'D' type service and full valet before I get it.
I'm sure I'll have a few questions to post on here in the coming weeks, I promise to search the forum beforehand to try and avoid duplicate posts and look forward to sharing my experiences with you all.

So if I may ask my first question:

Q: With a 3 month parts and labour warranty included, what do you recommend I have checked out first by an independent MB specialist?

Great stuff, awesome choice, ive a s211 e320 cdi on a (53) plate and shes covered 87k.

Had 2x front fwd wishbones replaced, Autobox fluid changed. New radiator as a precaution as it had the old valeo style ones which can crack internally.
Thermostat and sendor, SBC battery replaced and a osr caliper along with new pads and disc's.

Can anyone tell me if they know anything about the screen which appears in this image of my E320 Avantgarde:



Should it allow DVD or TV playback from the head unit?
Can it show the SatNav Map?
Would a 2004 Model still be able to show TV now that the analogue signal has been switched off?

Also, when I checked the V5C (Section 4) it states:

Model E320 Avantgarde Auto
Variant U065K0
Version TCAAA512

Do these numbers refer to UK spec / trim / system software?
Is it possible to update the SatNav Map as a number of new roads in my area do not appear on it?

Welcome to the forum.

The 211 is a fantastic car in my opinion. Luxury, comfort, power, it has it all. It does have some things you need to watch out for though.
