So what did YOU do to improve your Mercedes this weekend?

You missed the point...it should have been her.:)

Ended up putting 4 tyres on . . . dont ask how much!
Gulp!
Oh and they have decided to change all 4 alloys for me for free (circa £4,500) . . nice chaps at warranty merc :o) . .luv ya!

May I ask why?:)

My contribution was to re-set the accelerator parameters on the fly-by-wire system...it's easy peasy and takes 2 mins 5secs. A noticeable improvement much to my amazement

Hi Mocas

Can you suggest a good place in West London/Heathrow for bodywork. Can you give me an idea of what you got done (you mentioned scratches/swirls etc) and how much it cost?

Cheers

Hi, there's a write-up of it here: Paintwork treatment tomorrow

However, it wasn't particularly local. I entrusted it to a company called New Again in Chelmsford, and was very happy with the results they achieved.

She did, don't you worry, dumped in style. I met her at her local pub and was told "Got something to tell you, I've met someone else".....

Best bit is Aberdeen is a 3hour drive and she said it would be good to see me again. Her reason, to tell me face to face. 6hour round trip and £40 of diesel to get told that.

But fear not, I have bounced back:D:D:D

Again...it should have been her on the holiday.

Anyway...I changed my front rear subframe bush this week end and tackled some rust.

Oh, get you now. I am not the sharpest knife in the block.

That holiday was planned months before we were going out, and before I departed we had only just started going out. I said to her I'd take her on a holiday later on.

Anyway, mine goes in to have some corrosion assessed. I am not best pleased a car so young has this issue. :o

I changed my Camshaft Hall Sensor tonight.

Wonder if it will make any difference apart from putting out the dashboard light ?

Having just got my w210 E320CDi a good service/detail is what I have in mind,so last week i drove up to Mercedes dealership to get some parts.I arrived up with the chassis number/car details and got oil/air/fuel/pollen/transmission filters, 7 litres of transmission oil, rubber gasket for bottom of transmission and some new badges for the back of the car.
Drove the car into my garage for the oil change and what do you know the oil filter was the wrong type so went to my local small motor factor who sold me the correct mann filter.
Next job after completing my oil change was air filter and yes, wrong filter again.I have'nt got round to the other jobs yet,the other parts are probably wrong too.:wallbash:

I drove mine up to Aberdeen. It was what the car was built for. Then I got dumped, so I drove it home and it made me feel a bit better. The improvement, one less treacherous madam to go in it.

...you've been told before - lose the facial hair! (won't dignify it by calling it a beard...)

Just spent all my day off cleaning and waxing my SL, not to mention polishing the alloys and treating the interior to a full clean down.

My new Pano roof is away at the painters at the moment so gave me chance to lubricate the soft top joints a little. Can't wait to get the pano back on though!

Thank goodness the weather held out here, just starting to turn nasty now.

It looks nasty with high wind but it still surprising warm even the weatherman said at 20 degrees.

Other than the usual hand wash and dry in the villages and a quick vacuum on the drive, I cleaned the leather and applied some leather balsam which I picked up at the Edenbridge and Oxted show last week.
Fairly expensive but its bought the front seats up a treat and they were in great condition already.
I'm going to pull the rear sests out tonight and have a go at them in the kitchen because they now look shabby in comparison to the fronts.

Washed and polished
Cleaned inside the wheels
rerouted the Iphone cable behind the Parrot

And went and looked at an Alpina D3, which was duly purchased.

By my friend :)

What a cracking car!
