Indeed it does. A bit of a worry but handy for getting onto show grounds, cleaning, getting a jack under etc.

Thanks. Care of it is something I'm certainly taking. The list of things I've done so far is very long and the number of hours spent even longer. Currently the plan is to keep it a while but I always say that when we buy a new car!

The touch-up paint I have says Merc 021 LCP Green written on. It is a designo option and I have heard of such paints being called vario before but usually vario blue as on the 1998 special edition. I'm not sure if that is the same.

I did take one of the engine bay. It was just as it started to rain which must've put me off as it came out blurred. I will add one when I get a chance.

As i mentioned before my friend has the limited edition 500 which is Varioblue, yours is definitely different.

I thought so. The only one I saw 'in the flesh' had had so much paintwork done it didn't look vario at all! I've made a note of the bodyshop you mentioned in case I need it at some point.

True there just Tax, insurance, fuel, Parts, that sort of thing. Just a rough idea really as I keep looking at a massive variety of cars and can't really decide.

Re the above - a smaller engined sl (mine is a 320) is pretty cheap to run, only my 3rd car but around £500 to insure, £200 to tax and servicing is heavily discounted at most MB and specialist workshops so reasonable to maintain. Nice car to own and drive. Don't want to distrct from the thread though - would love the opportunity to have a go in a SL60. Looks like a beast!
