No clue, the guy even cut me up, I beeped to let him know he was in the wrong. He followed me, didn't really notice, and come traffic lights, one punch to break the window, and about 4/5 blows to my head! Didn't hurt too much

There really are some vile people about, sheer envy of others' possessions and just so unacceptable although it seems the police these days suggest we have to accept it as a way of life .

Ray, so sorry to hear that you spent a night up having to watch your car because of the ignorant wotsits that lurk. It is the inconvenience of things like this that make it even more frustrating, not to mention the lack of police assistance.

Some years ago, I had a metro, a car I bought from my grandfather and was very dear to me . It was stolen from the drive over night , for parts apparently. How desperate. I reported the theft to the police, they confirmed they knew which "gang" were operating in the area, but couldn't do anything about it as they didn't catch them in the act. Poor show.

Two nights later, at 01.00, I had a call from the police, yipee! They had found my car! "I'll go and fetch it then" I said. Officer - "no point, not much of it left, seats, steering, gear box and engine have gone". What was the point of disturbing my night I wondered. And yes, they claimed to still know who did it, but they were unable to stop them.

I offered to "help"! But my offer was declined strangely!

National Service wouldn't go amiss imho these days.

Its is not my experience, but when this type of thing occurs, it is best to rapidly open ones door.

Totaly disarms them and if done right, gives them a crack in one or both knees. Not as effective if you drive a car with frameless doors, but, unless they have anticipated the move, stops the violence and gives you the upper hand for when you step from your vehicle, the action of which gives them reality, and the fact you maybe about to join in. As you have taken the advantage they generally start to make a lot of noise and take a step back to regroup. At this point you forcefully push them further as they have now lost a good footing, and providing you keep hold of them as they fumble toward the oncoming traffic you will be suprised how accomodating they become towards you.

Either that, or just reverse into their vehicle and claim they drove into you. Imagine them trying to get witnesses so that they can say you did it.

Moral. don't ever get road rage. you only lose the fight, and you end up living a short and miserable life.

sorry to hear that mate, happend to me abt 5 times now, once even during the day! none in the last two years though, thank goodnes cos i'm becoming poor just replacing the windows.
