Since there is a wide group of experts here i decided to ask.

I was driving 1 month ago and noticed that my speedometer was at 0 km but I was well over that speed. Then it jumped up to 80km all of the sudden. This is happening more and more for time to time. Now all the meters are doing this. If i knock on the dash the meters jump up. This is happing every time when I start the car. Do you guys know of this problem? Friend of mine has benz and this happened also with his car. So I called the dealer and they say this is common with benz. Whats the repair way for this? Do i need to buy new one or can I fix this? If there is a howto or someone has fixed this please reply.

Something very similar happened in a golf I had, but it was due to dust in the dial. If you feel up to it, take your dial apart, and clean it out with a compressor (or a can of compressed air from maplins if you don't have a compressor). If this doesn't work, someone else might have some more advice

Possibly a voltage regulator playing up, but wouldn't swear to it......

You could try making sure the plugs on the wireing harness in the back of the cluster are seated properly?

EDIT: found this on mercedes shop. click

Thanks

I'm cleaning my dash. Removing the dash is simple as i heard. Just 2 wires and pull it out? Nothing else? When i talk about the wires, im talking about the Dash removal tool!

odometer stuck on a c220

I' ve got the same problem. It seems that Mercedes is aware of it, they place on request an inexpensive kit of " spacers".
A little improvement.
Does somebody knows how to remove the dash board of this car?
A little bit fed up to go to the shop to replace a burnes out bulb.
They told me , it's easy??
