I have removed the spoiler from my car as it was coming off due to poor application by a previous owner.

As a result it has left a fair bit of solid residue on the boot lid. Any recommendations for how best to remove it?

Thanks.

Try gentle heat from a hairdryer to soften it first and then petrol to remove any remaining residue?

WD40 gets rid of it / spray it on and leave for 5mins then rub with a cloth / repeat process until all is gone

Nail polish remover.

Try a small test patch first.

Be careful with products like nail polish remover as they may also soften the paint.

Why not ask at a local body shop? They will have to do this as a matter of routine so will know the best products to use.

Yep ask a body shop - ive always used proper body shop panel wipe (which is more less petrol !) it works but does soften paint eventually

goo gone and some toffee roll should do the trick.
