hey guys, im a new boy and was just wondering if anyone knew how much a set of 10 double spoked sport alloys go for for a w211??

Have a look on the website below to determine the wheel you actually want...
You can filter the page for Mercedes, AMG or Brabus if you want via the drop down box.

Once you know what you want you can either buy them new from that website or note the name and part number and then go hunting eBay / Breakers yards..

Hi Palmersol
I was watching a set on ebay that sold for £455.55 yesterday, I think these are the best looking wheels out there and would love a set mysef but havent got a spare £500 at the moment.

thanks Simon, thats a great pointer, i have seen some replicas out there but they are not wider for the rear set as the origonal.
i think if i looked at a second hand set i would have to factor in the cost of a refurb so there minto!!

goodone, can i ask how do you like your E320 i am looking to get a facelift 2007-on hopefully sooner rather than later and was going to go for the 320 as i have deriven one on many occasions, but i dont know how the smaller ones compare?

I had a few problems that needed to be sorted out when I first got it but now its running great, loads of power when you need it and I'm getting 42 mpg on my journey to work around the M25, mine has the air suspension and has a fantastic ride quality. Overall I'm very pleased with it. I still have a few bits of bodywork I would like to tidy up and a nice set of 18" sport rims and I would be heaven.

I have a 2007 E320 cdi..
Gorgeous engine with loads of grunt.
I also have the air suspension..
When you get one ask the garage you buy off the change the inlet / turbo oil seal.. Many mechanics are now doing this as an every other service routine.. The oil seal is the weak point.. It eventually gives up and leaks oil onto the inlet port shut off motor.. This causes it to fail and its then circa £550 to fix !!!
Best to prevent the problem by renewing a £10 oil seal !!!
I did my own.. Not hard to do !

Goodone what problems did you have?
What year is your car ?

thanks for the tips, i had just seen a E320 silver with sports alloys etc for sale online i think it was in lancashire, it was such a bargin.. it was clean as a whistle and with 41000 miles, they wanted £9700 for it... i nearly fell of my chair, god i wish i lived closer, unfortunatly it got snapped up very quickly.. i wonder why? im starting to feel very sick !!

I live in Lancashire but it wasn't me who bought it my friend.. Lol

Can I suggest that when you see a car that grabs you and you have that gut feeling that "That's the one" then you phone up and reserve with say £50 with your credit card. (That's what I did)..
They will hold the car for you and BE PREPARED TO TRAVEL (I did)..
If you don't like the car when you have viewed it then they will reimburse you the money..
Worst case scenario is you have a day out somewhere...
Best case.. You get the car of your dreams !
Palmersol, where are you located ?

now Simon that sounds like a great idea, i never thought of doing that!
im in Exeter in Devon and there just doesnt seem to be many around here for sale.. i must admit im not in an immidate rush but if the right one comes along then il will def have a look, i am well prepared to travel to find the right one and like you said its a day out.
how far did you travel to find yours and what mileage did you buy it with, cond, color etc?

My current car I have only had for about 2 months. I travelled about 70 miles for it..
My previous C class was over in the North east (I live on the North West coast).. It was near Sunderland which is about 130miles from me..
The C class (C270 cdi) was a 2005 facelift model in Jasper blue and had 34,000 miles with 1 owner..
My current car is a 2007 E320 Cdi with 36,000 miles on it and the colour is iridium..
This may be a bit unorthodox for a Merc owner but I really did NOT want Silver as its much too common for me..
I also like the paler leather interiors..
When I was looking I actually looked nationwide...
In view of your location you pretty much will have to travel for the right car but treat it as an adventure..Something to be enjoyed and not resisted..
Your car is out there and she wants you to find her..
Now go and seek !

iridium that is a real nice color, you certainly dont see many of them around!
can i just ask how much does it cost for a full tank of diesel and what kind of mileage do you get from it, i know there not going to be the most econimic of cars, but i can imagine they will be well worth it.

When I do the 10 miles to work each morning I get caught in rush hour traffic and so that means fuel consumption is worse.. 30 - 32mpg

On a clear road going around town I get around 35 - 38mpg
On a nice long run I typically get 41 - 44mpg.. I have had better but then the driving gets boring as you need to really try.

Thank you re the colour.. It really is lovely in the flesh and actually looks very different in overcast and sunny conditions..
The 211 is a gorgeous car with superb build quality.. This is my 2nd E320 cdi..
Don't be put off by scare stories of inlet port shut off motors.. There is a little preventative maintenance required which I do myself every other service..
I can keep my eye out for a 211 for you if you want and then send you a PM or e-Mail..

Is there a "how to" on changing this oil seal anywhere Simon?

I suppose I could create one. Leave it with me a couple of days please..
Seriously its not much more involved than changing air filters..Though I did hear of one member doing the seal without removing air filters..
Please remember this is nust for the V6 Diesels..
