Lotherton Hall is not that far away from York , the hotel you stayed at before would probably be ok if you were happy with that one. As an alternative Tadcaster is close and is a nice town but I’ve never stayed so can’t help with hotels.

We have done previously Paul but it's a bit isolated so we tended to get a cab into the town centre. Last time we went we stayed at the New Masons Arms at Oulton which was OK but quite small.

There's always the Best Western Milford, I've stayed there a couple of times now and it's handy for the venue.

Not sure I'll be there this time, if I feel up to it and still have the car then I should be OK but neither is a given at the moment.
