Sprint Booster

I find that if I need instant response when overtaking, dropping a gear manually does just as well......

Works for me too, if you have lag on an overtake manouvre you are not looking far enough in front and accelarating too late :(

I generally find the people that tend to knock this device are the ones that either have never had it fitted to their car and tried it or may have problems keeping the car under control with it fitted :)

Haven't got one (and I'm not knocking it either). But having understood who it works I just try to dump the throttle fast when I want instant throttle response - does work, but you do have to remember!!

I would not really recommend one of these on a BMW, the throttle map on a BMW is quicker than on a Merc, I would guess that on a Merc it may work really well.
On my M3 I do use sport mode occasionally, which is the same as a sprint booster, but you don't have the total control you get with it off, it is more a case that it is more fun, but when you want the very last bit of control it is best to turn it off, but we are talking on the track not road use, for that it is great.

i really wanted one of these but when i fitted it on my '98 320 CLK all it did was to put it into limp mode.. subsequently thanks to another member here with the same model as me posting it looks like early CLK's don't like the SB, if anyone knows a workaround would love to hear it..

As from earlier posts fitted them, tested them don't rate them, as for car control see my other posts on what I do. They work for some, dangerous for others horses for courses and opinions vary, mine is waste of money on a MB or BMW

I have a sprint booster fitted to my 2011 A207 E-Class Cabriolet, and it's fantastic fun.
However, I hate the little switch that is supplied with the 4 wire Sprintbooster, and I am convinced that I can replace it with a 3 way switch which fits in with the interior of the car better....
But I am short of a wiring diagram.
I have seen on a Bimmer site how they use a BMW Sport button instead of the supplied Sprintbooster one, but the illustrations and instructions refer to the colour coded wires coming out of the BMW switch without giving away the circuit schematic diagram itself.
Can anyone help with instructions for modding the sprint booster switch and connecting to a latching 3 way switch?

Yep most of the bimmer lads wire them to the sport button my nephew is a tech adviser on that forum what wiring diagram is it you need and I'll see what he has got

most of the bimmer boys have swapped to Velocity though a much better device
