The ECU will hold most fault codes even if you interrupt its power supply.
To reset you have a few options.
1) Now that the SB has been removed the car will clear it automatically after X amount of drive cycles (its the amount of cycles put on the car not the distance that counts TBH)
2) Get an OBD2 compliant tester on it and see if it can find the fault but i wouldn't expect it to.
3) Get a DAS tester on it because this will find the fault and can clear it but its only found at dealers and good indy's, as for getting it done FOC thats up to the shop in question.
