hi

i have a sprinter 311 2004, ive been having some issues with it. the edc light stays on and the oil light also comes on with it, i can rev it at all nothing happens when pedal pressed

now this is the second time this has happened, first time same problem, i had code scanned and came up with accelerator pedal and oil level sensor, had both replaced along with new fuel filter, oil etc codes were cleared and all worked fine

now the same thing has happened again, start fine edc and oil light on, cant rev it at all, disconnected battery still edc on, i dont think there any reason for oil light to come on, there is plenty of clean oil in it as was serviced less then 500 miles ago.

what i did notice was before this happened for the last few days the red fuel button/light which shows water in fil filter did come on during driving and go off itself

any help please as it just wont move now, i can change the pedal and oil level sensor which the snap on reader picked up last time, wipe the codes and pretty sure it will be ok again but for how long?

anyone had similar problems? also when driving over 80mph edc comes on but enine runs normal

Get the fault codes read again and see what comes up. Also you may want to check to see if there is a buildup of carbon around the injectors. -looks like coal.

Ok I will do that today, are the injectors visible or do I have to take rocker cover off? Thanks

Today I wernt to start the sprinter up and its working fine no edc, revs fine too. Now problem is I can't have the faults scanned now as it seemed to fixed itself but may happen again

The faults should still be stored so that you can still read them.

Didn't get around to having the faults checked but its running fine at the moment but the red fuel light in the dash is on constant most of the time and flashed on and off when reved

right had the codes scanned, came up with pedal accelerator voltage too high, oil level sensor voltage too high, fuel low pressure all the faults came up as stored not current

i was told air is getting in through the dodgy pipe on the fuel filter as it is bit loose

any suggestions?

Sorry buddy. I don't have a Sprinter or any help for you. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Hi. Have just had the same problem.
For a couple of weeks, when changing up through the gears, occasionally got very slow uptake in revs, (but not from standing still in 1st).
Replaced Fuel Filter in attempt to fix. (it didn't), (The turbo solenoid is fine)

Then on Friday after an hour on the motorway, over a period of about 5 minutes revs started to dip for a couple of seconds then came back, then revs dipped with EDC light on, then joined by Oil light. (Oil level was fine) then lost all response from the accelerator pedal, sat on hard shoulder, Engine idling no problem. engine would re-start no problem just no response from the pedal.
Breakdown mechanic couldn't fix, so was towed.
Waiting for diagnostic but I suspect it cold be pedal related.

Anyone know of a way to test the pedal with multimeter?

Thanks
