Afternoon all. I have had nothing but trouble with this bloody sprinter for a while now. I have started a new thread because this current issue has nothing to do with the old issues I dont think.
After all the other work with replacing injectors had been done i was still getting black smoke and no power, so the mechanic came back out and plugged in his diagnostics again. Im getting the following coming up as a stored fault
P1470 - 16 - Charge pressure control, Charge pressure is too low.
I did a quick google and read something about the usual things about checking hoses for splits and cracks. And i read about checking actuator on the turbo is moving when revving. So the mechanic had a check of all the hoses and they were fine but when he checked the actuator he found its moving very freely. you can move it back and fourth with ur fingers without any resistance. He said this is why we have lack of power because its not holding it shut and its not building pressure.
So two things does that sound about right?
Is it a whole new turbo or can this actuator with "maybe a missing spring" be replaced on its own?
