Just got this horrible squeaking noise now at the back when I drive. It happen when the car move up and down or if I press on the rear bumper there is this really loud squeaking noise, like an old truck. I couldn't figure out if it was from the left or the right or both side?
Would that be the shocks?
Some rubber mounting?
Dampers?
The springs?

Thank you.
Olivier

Theres a ton of rubber bushes doing different things at the back end.

Get a buddy to bounce on the boot sill while you try and locate it, shocks would be a good starting point though.

Not sure on the w210 but on the w202 there are two large rubber doughnut shaped mounts which the rear suspension bolts onto, on some vehicles these are filled with oil (may have leaked out)

Hi, this is what Andy and ILJ suggested. I did it, couldn't find where the noise was coming from.
Got the can of WD40 and spray all the rubbers I could see, same, squeak squeak squeak... Look ike it might be the shock...
Cheers.

Update.
I sprayed some WD40 on some bushes, moving parts, few days ago and the squeak squeak is gone.

Strange  how the WD40 took a few days to work?

:D I just said to Mark that you've got a squeaking rear end!

My rear is not too bad ;) . I actually heard no noise yesterday, but I wasn't sure. Now I am :)
