Starting car in "s", not "c"

...The user manual States it will start in the last mode selected for 'c' or 's', but on my 2010 CLS GE, it also resets to C mode on restart

It seems that on older vehicles it stays were it was last left (mine does), on newer vehicles it reverts back to C when the engine is switched off and back on.

There was also a post here from a member whose car used to stay in S or C, until the dealer updated the TCU software and the feature was lost - with the new software the car always started in C...
