I know this has been done a number of times before but it's worth another reminder.
If anyone with a W202 hasn't changed the steering damper recently (say in the last 50k miles or so) then do so (or at least check it out).
I replaced mine yesterday as it was leaking and had gone all soft (ooh, er missus) and what a transformation. It steers like a new car now and I have lost the anoying clunk when driving over irregularities in the road. I thought I was going to have to replace all sorts of suspension bits to solve that one!
Total cost £28 from the stealers and held in place with 2 16mm bolts. A cinch to replace. The only thing which takes the time is jacking the thing up and removing the plastic undertrays.
