I know this has been done a number of times before but it's worth another reminder.

If anyone with a W202 hasn't changed the steering damper recently (say in the last 50k miles or so) then do so (or at least check it out).

I replaced mine yesterday as it was leaking and had gone all soft (ooh, er missus) ;) and what a transformation. It steers like a new car now and I have lost the anoying clunk when driving over irregularities in the road. I thought I was going to have to replace all sorts of suspension bits to solve that one! :D

Total cost £28 from the stealers and held in place with 2 16mm bolts. A cinch to replace. The only thing which takes the time is jacking the thing up and removing the plastic undertrays.

I'm having mine done on my SL next week. It does make alot of difference.
