Easy to renew up on a ramp 2 bolts only. Safe enough to drive in that condition. MB or eurocarparts.

theres one on ebay from gsf do you think this would be ok or just buy it from mercedes

I got mine from GSF Sheffield £24. easy diy fit -- just make sure you fit it right way round

The GSF/EBAY one doesn't state the manufacturer which I always like to know. The Mercedes one is made by Stabilus AFAIK EUROCARPARTS list Lemforder as one maker who would be OK as a well established GeRman OEM for MERCEDES.

I bought mine from MB for W202, it was not expensive.

The Merc one doesn't usually last more than 15,000 miles before it starts to leak.

The MB one cant be that bad because they havn't changed it since the W124 and they are fitted to many different models and specs.

As Gareth says the MB one is fine and not too expensive at £27-97. :) No matter what manufacturer supplies them they can wear out fairly rapidly since they are exposed to a lot of road grit which goes for the piston rod seals eventually.:(

i got my girlfreind to pick it up from gsf thismorning and fitted it half an hour ago when i came in from work took 20 mins so thanks everyone for your help, as always yous have been very helpfull

You bought it from GSF at the same price that MB sold me that same part (which was original). You should check the dealer sometimes! :)

Speeking Of Dealers I Got A Price Of Them Fo A Set Of Spark Plug Leads 80 Euro A Lead Is That About Right Or Is That Why There Called Stealership

Wear and Tear items at dealers are decently price (in my opinion). But an items that are alot less likely to 'wear' or 'tear' cost alot more ..

MB leads are very very expensive - I think they are still made up individually at the dealer. Having said that the originals are very high quality - make sure the originals really are faulty before replacing - they can last for years and years.

Hi,
Try Euro car-parts for good quality replacement ignition leads.
They were exact copies of the MB ones they were replacing on my C230K.

Original Merc ignition leads do not wear out.

They can be damaged of course if you pinch them whilst putting covers on on etc.

Mine still original at 165000+ miles.

each ignition lead for your car should be a maximum cost of 43 Euros
from Merc dealer.

The ignition wire is sold by the metre and the ends are fitted by the dealer at time of purchase, and is normally included in the price.

Mine has been on 30k (18 months) and is ok so far.

Is Non OE spec any better?

Apoarently it is. I have had two MB ones in th past and they generally don't tend to last more than a couple of years or so.

If the MB one was soo good, they shouldnt need changing so often nor would this be a common problem on a lot of mercs that use this item.

I am now on a non original one which was fitted by Ollie, so lets see how long this one goes for.
