Steering wheel not going up and down

Hi,

2013 CLS and the steering has stopped going up and down, in and out is ok. You can hear it click so I am assuming it is a mechanical fault. Getting to it looks difficult, do you need to take the wheel off first?

Any help in solving it welcome.

I would say not needs to be put on star for diagnostic test more then likely control module fault
