Steering Wheel.

Just had a steering wheel put on at my local indy, i allways thought you had to disconnect the battery to do this, but the guy who changed it over didn't disconnect it, he didn't tell me how though. He could not put the clock right as i have an aftermarket sat nav, i was told it had to have the old comand fitted to do this, i had a clock put right on a R230 with an aftermarket sat nav at comand in lightwater Surrey although it was a digital clock which they done with Star, wondering why they couldn't put it right?

If the car has been recoded to remove the Comand unit from the system, then the option should be present in the settings menus to set the clock.

That was how it was done after I had the audio install in my 211.

There wouldn't be any option in the cluster to adjust the clock if originally it had COMAND fitted.

If they didn't disconnect the battery, why is the clock wrong now, or was it always so?

Hi the clock was allways correct until i had a new battery fitted by the local indy and it has never been right since, when they fitted the battery nothing was said about the clock, as they were asked on my last visit to put it right and told me they couldn't do it as the comand has been taken out.

It'll need STAR to recode the cluster and enable the option to set the clock

Tanuie, come visit comand.co.uk in Lightwater again and we'll re-code the cluster properly.
