Sticking fuel sender/gauge?

Hi,

What's the fuel sender like to get at on a W126 SE300?
Just bought the car and in fairness to the trader he told me about it Gauge is sticking just above quarter full.
Anyone know about this particular fault?

Sender should either be on top of the fuel tank - Access can be made by removing rear seat, removing rear parcel shelf and then go through one of the storage cubbies and it should be there. Or, i think some are accessible through removing the carpeted panel in the boot which covers the tank.
