You can see the marks around the ignition barrel where the thing has been hotwired/jimmied. I think it would be sensible to budget for new locks and keys, which would cost a fortune, or an absolute top of the range immobiliser. Looks like it has been put back on the road with the minimum of cost hence the hood and damage still present - presumably an insurance co disposal? The side indicator/badge picture is a very strange addition - probably from a Corvette looking at the other stock? Oh and on his site he gives some more details of the recovery (in France) and a big dent in the bootlid...
Totally agree that he should have described the bootlid dent in his ad. Here is the 'missing' pic:
Beginning to wonder if this car would be worth £8,950 if it was immaculate and wasn't stolen/recovered especially if the mileage is not verified and lack of history too.
No service history is dodgy- u would expect it to have had a couple of servcies at least at the claimed mileage (when insurance companies do settlement for stolen cars they always take the spare key (s), log book V5) and request for the Service Book...
The car needs a lot of work doing on it... new locks... soft top (very complicated and expensive deopending on nature of fault and a replacement boot lid...) and God knows what else....
Personally, if I was to buy the car I would not pay more than £5.5K for it as no verification of history and the above faults... (expensive...) I would expect an immaculte minter of the same spec with servcie history to retail for asking price of this one....
