I just changed my strut and as my old clamps would not compress the spring enough I let a local garage do that part on their hydraulic machine.
My question is does the special nut under the top clamp preload the bearing or does it just go tight?
I turned it until I felt resistance but want to be sure I have not overloaded the top bearing?
I never got a chance to see how that part fits.
Thank you
