hi i recently had my 54 plate c180k serviced plugs,oil,etc.. because my car started to run badly on start up, lumpy ,wont rev for about 20 -30 seconds then it will drive ok but this did,nt help so i had a new air mass meter fitted being told it was the problem on removal of the meter the mechanic spotted a hose from the inlet manifold had a split.
Great i thought found the problem had it all put back together new hose fitted aswell problem still there??Took it down to the merc specialst near me had a star diag done to set everything back up but problem still there
he told me he needs to remove the supercharger to replace the rest of the hoses that run underneath it.
That is what he is 90% sure the problem is but it is £300 pound to find out if they need replacing or Not .
does this sound right these pipes will make my car run badly ??
or does anybody else have any other solutions or ideas first ;)
The car is booked in on weds for the surgery
any help
thanks

Yes they will cause problems of this nature but there is no need to take the supercharger off to do it. I have just ordered all the piping to replace mine as I think I have an issue in this area also. Mine also shows no problems on star

thats what he told me supercharger off to replace the rest of the hoses under it
can this job be done differently?
or have you not had the dreaded news yet lol

See THIS thread. Yes job can be done differently you don't have to remove the supercharger but think I'm going to take mine off for another inspection in case I've missed something

hi m8 my car is the face lift sport pack with the new engine fitted m271 think
so it is different to the one pictured

I know but the principes are all the same and we work on loads of Kompressor cars except the AMG's you don't have to take the supercharger off to get at the pipingm There's also an electical multi block under the air box that can also cause problems.

Hope that helps

thanks m8 i,l mention that on wednesday when i take it to the garage

It's very tricky to replace the said breather hoses on a 271 engine with the supercharger still on.
To inspect them correctly it will need removing. Totally different set up to the 111 engine.

Had the work done £300 Lata the same a few days after now management light on this was never on before I've been told the fuel filter can cause bad starting will cause rough running also?? Does anybody know if this is true
Any help appreciated
