Surprising fuel economy on a S55 AMG

It was cold, dark and rainy but a couple of nights ago I managed the following. About 75% motorway. You can call it cheating if you want but the pic was taken right before reversing onto the driveway which always knocks .1 off!

Not sure why I'm using this thread to chronicle my fuel economy pics but it's as good a place as anywhere! Here is a pic of this morning's commute, right before swinging into the multi-storey carpark (which always knocks about .5 mpg off). 90% motorway, M6 and M62 with heavy traffic (but not stationary, just slow).

This is the highest figure I've seen on this gauge

I once averaged 32.2mpg over 214 miles. It was nearly all motorway and a very boring way to drive.

Still impressive though.
