So all he got was a fine, no ban or anything?

Much more equitable than a fixed-penalty-charge system.

What's £60 to a millionaire? And if the 3 points bother him he hires that lawyer Nick Whatsisface and the case gets thrown out because the traffic officer's hat was at too jaunty an angle.

Yep..its a much better society that lets people who have no desire for a job, has no money other than state handouts, and drives around in a stolen vehicle...they get fined but dont pay...simples:D

Only if they use the wrong accountant ;)

I agree with ***, proportional taxation. I sort of like that idea because it wouldn't need to be means tested.

Your honour, the accused in a .......Ferrari Testarossa? 100mph in a 30 zone? Yeah, £250,000 fine or take the car, chose!

Your honour, the accused in a ..........Reliant Robin in fibreglass yellow, 35 in a 30mph zone? Sorry, has to be wrong, not guilty and have some counselling on the NHS please......

Less than 2% of his assessed wealth - but a Testarossa - cant be worth more than £40k?

He must have had the world's most shyte brief.
