Recently purchased a W124 T300 TE.
The problem is that the tailgate/boot will not lift up or stay up.
Never realised how heavy those things are.
Problem is that its next to impossible to use the boot as you always need one had to open the door and hold it open.
I am also concerned as I have kids and the door is really heavy and can do some serious damage if it fell on anyone.
Is this an easy thing to fix? or is it best left to te professional?
I know that mercedes designed some clever things for this to not have any of the workings visable.
