telephone codes France -Germany

As far as I know this is not possible in the same way in Germany. You can ask D. Telekom to hide your land line number but I do not know if they will do it. On your cell phone there is an oprion not to transmit your number.

Thanks for that answer, it is for land lines where we need to hide the ID so that when Sky do their monthly phone bill check.

I will also need them for all Europe before long

Isn't it mandatory in Sky's T&C that they can ID your phone number? Therefore blocking the number is as far as Sky is concerned the same as having an invalid number (only applies to services that require a phone connected, only a basic package after 12 months subscription has been completed doesn't require a phone connection).

To the best of my knowledge there is no equivalent to "141" in France. We don't subscribe to Sky but have Sky "Free to View" with the old card we had in UK. Others we know who are on contracts avoid using French land lines to call Sky, instead they use SKYPE from their computers that way no number is displayed at the other end. Alternatively if you have a UK mobile (and live in France) you can use that and just blag it if they ask where you are phoning from. Friends who have Sky+ and live down the road from us don't have any phone line connected to their computer, apparently you can disconnect Sky after one year into your contract. Hope this is of some help.

Thanks for the answers so far, when they subscribe to the movies then the phone has to be connected, its only a computer that does the ringing to see how much you have spent on Pay TV

Sorry I'm not much help then. (Also pressed "Go" twice, must train these fingers better.)

The phoning to sky is done overseas by using an automatic dialler with the Sky box, with our last supplier of auto diallers they would blank the first 3 numbers, but the new ones cant do this

Our sky box had its modem cable ripped out 60 seconds after the installation engineer left and has never complained. Mind you, we only have the vanilla flavour package, no movies or sport..

Cheers,

They can get very nasty when you subscribe as the card stores box office details.

The joke is that Sky knows that there are 1000's of the abroad, the problem for them is that copyright and royalties have only been paid for the UK

I found this, not sure if it would work for you though?

When I was a Sky subscriber, Sky accepted my VoIP number, it's an 0121 number, so no matter where in the world I am I have a UK - Birmingham number, it just looks like a usual number.

I have my VoIP line set up at home (don't have a landline) and I can have my VoIP set-up in another country at the same time, so if I am in Germany for example and I have se up my VoIP when someone rings my 0121 number it rings my phones in the UK and the phones in Germany, if I make out going calls whilst in Germany it sends my UK-Birmingham 0121 number as CLID.

BTW this isn't me!
