Thank you all for your patience. I have now removed the cradle, and ascertained that it is for a Nokia 6100, 6610, 6610i and 7250i. Not that these numbers mean anything to me, but I can now go off and look them up

I have now looked into all of the above phones, and do not think I want any of them. I appears my current phone is a Nokia 6280, for which I have not been able to identify a cradle. I suspect a bluetoooth cradle will be the best way forward.

How about getting a 6230i cradle from ebay and a 6230i phone from ebay too??

This is what I did and it gives me a reasonably wearable and useable phone + car kit. - I am too tight to go for the bluetooth...

But the 6230i cradle would not work with the 6280, why should he buy an older phone if he can get a BT adapter that works with his current phone?

Or are you trying to optimise the cost and assume two phones, one for the car and one to carry?
