Hey folks!

This week I upgraded to the new A200 (A200 AMG Line Premium 5dr Auto). The new MBUX user interface is a massive improvement on my last A180d's interface.

One thing I'm struggling with is connecting to the internet using my phone without resorting to using the built in SIM in the car (why should I pay extra for a SIM inside my car when I already pay for 40gb data/month in my phone contract?). Does anyone know how I could do that?

You need to enable bluetooth tethering on your phone

Is that knowledge based on experience with the 2019 A-class and MUX or are you assuming the A-Class to be similar to your W212?

I have not figured out any way to use cell phone data with a 2017 E-class. Also a different car but both have a built in SIM.

ShaunB - thanks for replying but I did actually have mobile tethering turned on (that's the option that turns on bluetooth, USB and WiFi tethering on iPhone). Still no luck unfortunately. I found this info in the manual - I will try tonight and let you know how that goes!

Yeah, I assumed it to be similar to the W212. I'm also referring to an android phone, and enabling tethering on it is bluetooth tethering only, certainly not USB tethering like the OP has said with his iphone.
I will test this out with my wifes 2018 A class later on today and report back

Well I tried to access internet/apps on my wifes car earlier, and unless I enable bluetooth tethering on my samsung galaxy s7 it will not let me into the apps, said data connection unavailable or something along those lines.
For what its worth, I read something online that says for the iphone you need an app called BlueDun. I don't know what truth there is in that though, nor can I test it out

If you have the new interface with the built in virtual SIM you can no longer tether your phone and use as a hotspot. You have to subscribe and use the car wi-fi hotspot or just use your phone personal hotspot but that means only one user can log on.

Hi johnhamelink. I collected my A250 AMG Line soon after you and cannot work out how you write a space between two words using the touchpad. I posted elsewhere in the Forum but got no response. Writing a horizontal line is recognised as a hyphen and using 2 fingers doesn't seem to achieve anything. I have trawled the internet and the user manual but found nothing. Have you any idea? It's frustrating to input town names with 2 or more words as you have to continually flip between handwriting and keyboard input. I tried voice recognition but the system does not recognise many UK place names.

There is a ‘space bar’ symbol in the bottom right of the keyboard. Looks like a flat lune with upturned edges. Press that and you get a space.
