I have for some time been looking for a 124 300D for reasonable money!!
So I found one in Bonney Scotland. So up to collect it and drove it back down to Lancashire and noticed a few issues on the way
. Steering rubbish, ride rubbish but all else appeared ok! Then off to 124 Works for a hobnob and a once over from IBW. Boy that guy is good. The car had been serviced and looked after, it said, by an MB mechanic. Really said Ian, so how come the rear springs (new) are not sat in their cups correctly and are off a 300E. Only one new front spring and that was also wrong. So they were sorted by Ian. Thence on to the breaks, rear calipers not up to much, pads shot, front claipers off a 190 or something
Again sorted. The engine and gbox are really good and are what "sold" the car to me. Car now drives and rides like a dream:bannana:. Just a few more jobs to sort and I will be happy with it
