Why the split? What's the difference, I thought all CLS55 were kompressors and auto?

Looks like "CL 55" to me and while all were autos the early ones were NA engines.

CL 55 AMG Kompressor = 162

Yes the Kompressor is becoming quite rare. Driving around London as i do, I've only seen three since we bought ours.

Yes the Kompressor started production late 2002 and finished 2006. I don't know how many where produced in that time.

I've just looked up the CLS 55 AMG and there are 393 of them including yours!

There was very nearly only 392 this afternoon!! Cruising down the A419 overtaking a string of trucks when the 3rd one in decided he would try overtaking just as we were level with his jockey wheel We were only doing ~60mph, a quick dab on the Go pedal and we catapulted past. I reckon if I had braked we would have been a black smear on the central armco.

Since getting R2 Mk4 I have been working on the paint work. As the original photos showed the car was in good condition but you know what I'm like! 4 coats of different waxes etc later and now I've just placed an order with Gtechniq! I think I'm getting addicted. Photos to follow in due course

Yes I've ordered C2 as C1 is for professional use only. KDS in Gillingham said they would correct my paint and apply C1 for about £800 inc (!!!) . I'm taking the cheaper option of doing a less thorough job myself and then applying C2 which I will then top up periodically.

Have you got a Porter Cable or similar machine polisher ? I don't mean a £20 Halfords job.

No I haven't used Gtechniq products yet but I've seen some amazing results at KDS Keltec. They swear by the range. I can't wait for it to arrive and then I'll have to dust every panel to make sure that they are utterly clean then apply C2. Watch this space!

Ideally you want a Dual Action Polisher witch mimics the action of your hand but alot faster ! without the danger of burning through the paint unlike a Rotary.
1st stage of Polish is applied witha Polishing pad then work down to your final stage Wax with a soft Finishing pad.
