Iridium C63PPP saloon
So I've actively been in the market for a used C63 for about 5 months now.
When it began, I was full of excitement, anticipation and slight trepidation.

Excitement that after almost 10 years I'd be back in an AMG car.
Anticipation that the noise of that motor would be in my life on a daily basis.
Trepidation because having watched the market closely for a year, the spec I want is not all that common it seems.

Now I'm full of impatience, mildly ****** off and considering compromise.

Impatience as I just can't seem to find what I want.
Mildly ****** off because the new cars that appear on the market are all the wrong colour, the wrong spec or in many cases misleadingly advertised (intentionally or otherwise - you be the judge!)
e.g. these 3 cars all at the same dealer advertised as having PPP extras
Mercedes-Benz C Class 6.3 C63 AMG MCT 7S 4-MATIC 4dr
Mercedes-Benz C Class 6.3 C63 AMG MCT 7S 4-MATIC 4dr
Mercedes-Benz C Class 6.3 C63 AMG MCT 7S 4-MATIC 4dr - Translation - we've painted the brake callipers
Considering compromise, because Merc are offering 2 years warranty on used approved AMG cars and maybe I could live with Obsidian Black.......

Sorry for moaning. Just wanted to vent a bit.

I know that feeling well.

I was in the market for slightly less than that - since the beginning of the year, 4 months - but more seriously so the past couple when my funds started to fall in to place properly and I was in a better situation to press to buy button.

I had my perfect car in my head, but it just wasn't coming up. I became obsessed with the classifieds and I knew every car out there, when a car appeared or disappeared.

I got fed up of the dealers wrongly (falsely) advertising cars or advertising cars that didn't exist and then offering a different car when calling about it!

I then resigned myself to the possibility of compromising - maybe I could live with a black car, maybe I didn't NEED PP or maybe I could fit the wheels I wanted later?

Then all of a sudden my car came up - 95% perfect, in an ideal world I'd have specced an LSD. It was being sold by MB so 2 year warranty and a 2 year servicing plan made it that bit more attractive!

I still have a peek at the classifieds just out of interest - My perfect car hasn't come up and I don't think my perfect car would have come up - the spec was just too specific. But I have a car I am seriously happy with, and still look out the window to check it's actually there!

And all I am missing is an LSD that I may not even need, and can fit at a later date if I decide I really need one!

So don't give up hope - maybe re-evaluate the spec you're after, but don't settle on a colour you don't want, you'll only regret it!

Keep your chin up, it will happen!!

Cheers Mole, I am considering Black more seriously now and have made inquiries about a car from Merc retail that has everything I want bar the LSD and the black wheels (I think - they have yet to send me the full build list)
The major attraction is the 2 year warranty as you mentioned.

I've spoken with them on several occasions recently and they are aware of what I'm after which is a Paladium (or Tennorite) Saloon with PPP.
The diff is no longer a deal breaker as I can see a trip to MSL for secondary cat gutting and a quaiffe in my future.

Keep getting offered white ones.
Although I do like it in white and loved the coupe specifically in that colour, I love on the border of Essex and I'm not too keen to blend into my surroundings quite that much!
Plus my wife says must have 4 doors. So....

Fingers crossed anyway.

I was in a similar position to u. Almost went to view the same car u did ( grey PPP saloon for sale in a garage). A forum members car came up for sale, called the guy and he seemed clued up about the car, done some quality mods from a reputable company (MSL) and we struck up a deal....

Cars a cracker and can't really fault it. Funny thing is I didn't really consider this car when It came up for sale...

Ur gonna have to compromise somewhere on either,

Spec
Colour
Price

Imo just spend good money on a car ur happy with rather than decent money on a car ur insure about.

In regards to blk, seen a saloon this eve with the blk/polished 19" wheels and it looked beautful. Made me double think Why I got paladium grey.

I agree with you. I'm happy to pay of its the right car (but not through the nose!)
I saw Fils car for sale here too and I think had it not been for the de-chroming I'd have been more interested.
Obviously at the time I thought I had a choice of Paladium cars and there'd be more coming. (cue laughter)

I've made inquiries about a black PPP car in Manchester (main dealer)
I agree with you that Black with the black/polished rims does look good.
Unfortunately this car has polished rims. (So I've put some black centre caps on my eBay watch list and looking to see if any local specialists can respray them for me)

The 2 years warranty makes it very tempting but I don't know how long this car will wait as I try to make up my mind if I'm ok with black.

This is the video they sent me. https://mercedes.citnow.com/vtr_5HsZVd9
Edit: interestingly the car seems to have more than 2k miles more on that stated in the original ad!

All the de chroming is reversible as its been vinyl wrapped...

Black on polished looks real good too. I wouldnt let the coour of the wheels put u off, as long as the actual car is what ur after the rest can be sorted.

Wow, if I'd not been so lazy and asked, I might be driving your car now!! Lol.
Do like the 507 wheels on yours aswell.

Just as an aside, I would mention that when the black car with black interior showed up, I emailed (was on the way to work otherwise I'd have called) about it and asked for clarification since the ad suggested there was a LSD ("all diff oils changed").
Result - no answer. I called several times in the following days by which time I realised the car didn't have the right steering wheel for PPP and didn't have a carbon rear spoiler either. Bottom line - cynical advertising at it's best. A-H0LES

The black wraps a nice touch imo. Suits the grey.

507 edition wheels are nice, not sure if they're lighter or stronger than OE 19" multispokes but they make cleaning the calipers easier and the design is nice and simple. Think they go well with the theme of the car (grey on black)

As u say, any car with perf pck should have,

Part wrapped wheel
Red calioers
Carbon spoiler

Best thing to do is get the vin of any car ur Intersted in and post it on here. Any options such as diff, perf pck, Harmon Kardon will show up immediately.

U have to be weary when spending so much on a car of this value (as I was) but buying of an enthusianst is ideal. I was weary when I bought mine but owner was spot on so can't complain... Even Bought it without the V5 present!

You're not wrong! Just need someone with a Paladium Silver PPP car on here to slap an order on the new car...........

Well I'm off to see an Iridium silver PPP saloon with diff, black 19s, carbon exterior pack and HK sound tomorrow.

Plus side - it's perfect in spec plus it's from a Merc dealer and they are offering 2 years extended warranty which makes it a very tempting proposition.
Negatives - I still want a Paladium car and I'm afraid I'll regret it.....

There's a paladium car for sale on ph. Has the perf pck and diff according to the garage. Milage & price is also decent. It's an estate with the 18" wheels. Looks real nice imo...

Too late! Just shook hands on this one!

My new car. The carbon wrap on the roof is coming off before I pick it up next weekend.

Good to hear!
Smile was temporarily suspended when I put the reg into the myaviva app to check my new insurance premium. Long story short, Aviva are about to lose my custom!
