Theft from my C Class

I have a 2010 C180 Sport and found overnight it had been "opened".

I know I locked it. Has anyone heard of cars being opened? I've seen stuff around "Key Catchers" catching the signal that opens the locks but don't know if this is real....

I've seen several reports of it happening on BMWs, but none on MB's.

On BMWs it's suggested that wireless doorbells can open them randomly. (Random as in some doorbells sometimes open some cars - it's not easily repeatable).

There is an Omega estate in my road that when he locks it triggers my doorbell.

Code catchers aren't supposed to work on new systems, they randomly change an embedded code within the signal every time.

How sure are you that you locked the car? I have left mine open on the odd occasion.

It is a shame they don't have a proximity sensor so even if you don't lock the car, it bleeps at you or something to remind you to lock.

Mercedes used to be prone to the old tennis ball trick :)

How do you mean it was opened? was the door open? anything nicked? or was it simply unlocked?

holy 5hit, I just saw this :eek::eek::eek:

Agreed, I can't find this app. Spoof.

Had a 55 reg 330D opened and a laptop and stuff pinched.

Police said it was common with BMW - apparently the scrotes just walk up and down the road with a plipper of some sort and see what happens.
