Thinking of buying 2019 c43, any advice?

Like Rich just brought first Mercedes - 2017 C43 convertible via Mercedes and am very happy with the car and pleasantly surprised to find that AMG models come with a 2 year warranty. Has a full MB service history (checked) all undertaken at the selling dealership and 2 owners from new, last having had the car for 4 years. Things I would particularly check on are the brakes and discs, tyres, windscreen along with the and front bumper and bonnet for stone chips and of course that everything inside the car operates as it should, as I hesitate to think how many electric motors there are with the premium plus pack and convertible hood.

I had a C43 Premium Plus estate for 3years and covered around 30K miles - beautiful car which made me smile everytime I started it and I still miss it! As above ensure it has FULL service history. Also make sure it has the Perfrmance Exhaust (PE) option fitted. The weakpoint on the C43 can be the shocks as they can suffer leaks and whilst this would be covered under your MB used-approved warranty (if you buy from an MB dealer) the MB aftermarket warranty does NOT cover leaking shocks. Also check the wheels over for cracks as most cars have 19" wheels fitted and these seem more susceptable to cracking compared to 18" wheels. And if you're buying from an MB dealer then insist they update the maps package to the latest version for free - if you're going for Premium Plus then it will have COMAND installed and the map update is around £120.

Thanks! The car im going to see tomorrow isn’t from an mb dealer and does have 19’s on it. It also has the night package with the performance exhaust. Although i may not open the valves too often id be disappointed with myself forever if I didn’t have it. Plus i think it will impress my kids with all the bangs and crackles! Good advice though, I’ll be sure to check the wheels very carefully! Cheers

Well, just a quick update…I’m now the happy owner of a 2027 c43. Not sure what all the buttons do (I didn’t get a manual) but I did find sport+ and i think that’s about all i need!

Thanks! Following many years of being of the mindset that any car i buy must:

1. Have a manual gearbox
2. Have a naturally aspirated engine
3. Cost an absolute fortune in maintenance and general running costs

The c43 has completely changed my mind! (Except for the 3rd point!)
I agree sport+ is amazing, the speed supported by that amazing engine roar is all new to me and I find myself inadvertently smiling whenever I touch the throttle! Less than 24 hours of ownership and I’ve gone through a full tank of shell premium already
