thinking of changing ISP

How come you are being charged so much by Pipex? I am with them both in London and Manchester, I have a 2Mb line and its about £20 a month....

Dunno.. phoned them yesterday and I am on solo2000 or something. They advised me to amend the package online where I found a small note advising that a charge of £50 would be incurred through a change of service!!!!!!!

Fantastic advice though lads - will have a good look later today.

I think that quite a few of the ISPs are guilty of leaving existing users on old pricing. Lots of friends noticing this at present with their providers.

BTW, for anyone considering the UKOnline 24mbps service - mine's working a treat. Still never been able to get through to them by phone though.

Thats one reason I love blueyonder... I had originally subscribed for a 512kb cable line, and in the past couple of years I've been upgraded to 712, 1mb, 2mb (and now apaprently 4mb!! Just ran a speed test, and I'm getting 4000+kb throughput downstream, now thats GOOD even for a 4mb line!)

Have been using Zen for over 2 years now and service is faultless.
rather pricey though.
Customer service is superb.
Have recommended f2s to my friends though if they can't/don't want to use Zen.
