Hi,

Anyone know where the THROTTLE PEDAL POSITION B SWITCH SENSOR is located.

The thottle pedal sometimes does not respond and when it does it will only rev upto 2000 rpm + I have changed the complete pedal system with no joy? The problem does not happen all the time and when it does if I turn off the car and re-start it rectify's the problem and I have full revs.

Anyone any clues the diagnostic system show a pending fault code relating to the above problem?

Hi,

I'm not sure where the pedal value sensor is on the W203 but on my W202 it's located next to the engine management system box. Basically on the end of where the throttle cable ends.

I have the same issue as you, but my problem is still fairly intermittent. Although I have lived with it for nearly 2 years.

The diagnostic code when the sensor does play up is:
Fault P1542 - Pedal value sensor (B71)

If I switch the ignition off and back on, the fault code disappears and no record is stored in the fault logs either. Every time I took my car in for diagnosis the dealer said nothing was wrong. It was only when I took the car in with the fault active that they could then see the error code.

Cheers Steve,

I must admin its a little frustrating not even the dealer knows where the sensor is? I hope i don't have to live two years with mine !

Best regards
