Hi,
2013 Mercedes Benz C63 w204 Magnuson supercharged. 42,000 miles. Fault Codes- P0430 Camshaft position censor A circuit bank 1, P0430 camshaft position censor A circuit high bank 1,P0438 Camshaft position censor A circuit high bank 2. And camshaft position sensor B. P0343, P0368, P0393, P25242

When I first bought the car, I snapped the serpentine belt when accelerating at lower gears and the car was taken to eurocharge. They checked the fuses and all wires and they were good. They said the issue was the ECU because something got fried in it. So a new ECU was bought and cloned. The second time the serpentine belt snapped again and through the same codes. Now this time I got some of the same fault codes and the fan turning on and oil temp gauge not working like it had done previously, but this time the serpentine belt was good. While accelerating with traction control off the car was losing traction in first and second gear. The car through the same codes once again, but the serpentine belt was good. I have noticed that if the belt tears off or the car hits the rev limiter that these codes are getting thrown. Does anyone have any suggestions? The car has been at the shop more than it has been driven, I am really frustrated and want to figure out what is wrong but cant find the problem.

Thank You
Max

Unsure why you are surprised at losing traction with the traction control off?

Why would you drive it like this?

If the belt keeps breaking then I would be checking the alignment of it plus the pulleys and tensioner.

As for the codes, have you had the car diagnosed by someone with Star?
Do you have any idea of the history of the car before you bought it? Any history of engine problems or crash damage?

The car had the wrong belt on it because of the supercharger and I finally found the right belt. Pulleys and tensioner were changed the first time the issue happened. The problem is that now even though I didn’t snap the belt the car is still throwing the codes and the only temporary fix is re-cloning the ecu but I know if it hits the rev limiter it will throw the codes once again. I’m having a shirt somewhere or more voltage that throwing the ecu off. Mercedes Benz STAR doesn’t take the car because of the supercharger, but the shop has a diagnostic tools to read if there’s a short and also checked all the wiring to the ecu and was good. Hitting the rev limiter shouldn’t fry the ecu, I bought the car to enjoy it and not worry not hitting the rev limiter. I just want to see if anyone else ever had something of the same issue and fix.
Thanks

The belt should have no bearing on the codes.

Why will Star not work with the car because of the Supercharger?

The cam sensors are independent of any after market compressor and Star should be perfectly capable of running diagnostics on OE components.

It seems as if your car has had some rather poor modifications in the past
do you know the full extent of the work that was carried out and have you tried changing the camshaft position sensors?
