Tomtom traffic, does it need phone connection?

Hi,

I have a month old eclass and was wondering if I need a phone connection to make it work? The latest stand alone tomtoms don't need this as they have a built in data modem, just wondering if this is the case with command online.

Also How would I know if it is using tomtom live or TMC for traffic info? Is there supposed to be a sat nav supplement in the instruction wallet? Very limited info in the main manual and I don't seem to have any additional instructions with the car.

If you mean Comand Live Traffic, then the car receives the data. On the Comand screen in Sat Nav you will see in the top right a graphic showing cars and this tells you if Live Traffic is updated. I couldn't find any reference to it in the manual (I have a new CLS) so had to ask the dealer !
